I've always enjoyed driving at night; most of the time, at least. When driving with someone else it can lead to some intense conversations.

This triptych is also available as a single image at the PRINT shop.

There is text — in clear acrylic — on these paintings.

#1
“I like it so much when you’re sweet and nice to me.”
He laughed. “That goes without saying.”
“It turns me on.”
A tear rolled down his cheek.
“Look,” she demanded. “This isn’t funny.”
“Oh.”
She pretended to ignore him. He contained his mirth.
“I love you,” she said at last.
“What?”
“You heard me.”
“Love is having feelings for someone?”

#2
“Feelings!?” She was quiet for a moment.
“Do you have feelings for me?” she asked.
“Why are you always so concerned with my feelings?”
“You didn’t answer the question.”
“Neither did you.”
She glared at him.
“If I do the things but don’t have the feelings..."
“That's not love,” she interrupted.
“And if I have the feelings but don’t act?”
“That can still be love.”
“I thought you’d say that.”
“Do you?” she persisted.

#3
“Do I what?”
“Do you have feelings for me?”
“You can’t tell?”
“Just answer the question.”
“No.” He crossed his arms over his chest.
“No what?”
“No, I won’t answer.”
“Why not?”
“Because it’s a peremptory question.”
“You cold bastard,” she spat.
He looked out the window.
