three classic screws and a bottle of stars

At the time I made these, I was thinking about painting a still life; something  I rarely do. I had a bottle with a bunch of paper stars in it and some newly purchased brass slot type screws. In the room was a fig tree. As so often happens when I engage the process, one thing led to another. The result is an open ended contemplative piece with an evocative title; kind of a zen kōan.

Originals are 12″ x 12″ (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm), gouache on acid-free, watercolour paper. They have been sold.
